Shhhhhhh…

I know Halloween is over, but I never shared my “craft” project with you.

It started with this shirt. Good Cents – 85 cents.

I heard you gasp.  That was so much money, but the shirt was HUGE and heavy, and you buy clothes by the pound.

So, I cut the shirt apart and was left with this skeleton guy on a piece of yellow linen.

I had an old picture frame that I picked up at Good Cents a year ago, but it just seemed too skimpy for the “picture”.

So, I cut apart baseboard that was ripped out and tossed into a pile headed for the trash.

I love power tools, especially this saw that cuts angles.  Pretty cool.

In case any of you are wondering, YES, I cut it by myself. And primed it.

A little glue and a staple gun and viola… picture frame.

I also needed a matte and since the skeleton reminded me of a librarian, I decided to decoupage pages on a plain black matte.

I probably should have read this James Michener book before trashing it, but it was the cheapest, oldest, rattiest book I could find at Good Cents. I didn’t feel like I was depriving the world of a great read by using it for a craft project.

Next was a couple of good coats of black spray paint.

While I was at it, I also painted a brass candelabra that I showed you back in August.

Put it all together and you have a ghoulish librarian reminding you to be quiet. This was a fun little scene at my front door.

The jars contained porcelain dolls feet and hands that looked slightly real, and a bunch of plastic skulls I picked up at the Dollar Tree.

Shhhhhh…. If I still have a job next Halloween, this is definitely going to end up a part of my cubescape.

Speaking of which, do you know that it’s only 53 days until Christmas.

Shhhhhhhhhh-shut my mouth!

This is so cool. I love the pickled doll’s feet. You must be a very popular place to trick-or-treat at Halloween….
